Three Grade 7 History lessons that move students past who won and into historical thinking. The first asks whether the British victory was actually inevitable, so students weigh evidence and argue a position instead of accepting the outcome as obvious in hindsight. The rest examine what the war meant for the people living through its aftermath: the Royal Proclamation of 1763, the Quebec Act, Pontiac's Resistance, the Treaty of Niagara, and the very different consequences for First Nations communities and for French-speaking Canadiens. What is included: - Two detailed lesson plans with full Ontario curriculum alignment, learning goals, success criteria and assessment strategy - Two slide decks (Was British Victory Inevitable, Impact on First Nations and the French) - A Significant Events student reference handout - Two original crossword review puzzles, one on the impact on First Nations and one on the impact on the French, each marked out of 15 - A structured note-taking handout on how the war affected the French The crosswords work as a review activity, a consolidation task, or an early-finisher option. Written by a Brock University teacher candidate during a Grade 7 History placement.
